Iranian film ‘Arina’ to compete in the US

Iran’s ‘Arina’ is to compete at the 2020 Universal Film Festival in the US.

Iranian title ‘Arina’ has been selected to compete at the 10th edition of the Universal Film Festival in the US.

Written and directed by Ahmad Tajari, ‘Arina’ narrates the story of a girl who tries to bring peace to her home after her parents get divorced.

Cast members of the film include Setareh Hosseini, Alireza Ostadi, Behnoush Bakhtiari, Vahid Sheikhzadeh, Fatemeh Shokri, Romina Pakdel, Maliheh Fatemizadeh, Amir-Ali Ramezani and Raha Ranjbari.

Tajari’s work has also been accepted to compete at the 2020 edition of the Queen Palm International Film festival in the US.

“The Mission of the Universal Film Festival is to create and provide a credible and accessible venue for aspiring and talented filmmakers,” writes the official website of the event.

Over the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s edition of the festival will be held online on August 22-24, 2020.
